The Green Party invites the public to a platform hearing on issues facing Syracuse and Onondaga County. People are invited to give testimony and speak out about the issues that matter to you or just listen to what others have to say.

The Platform Hearing is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. or until all who want to speak have spoken. The platform hearing will be at the Westcott Community Center, 826 Euclid Ave. in Syracuse. RSVP here!

“We want community members to tell us what they think are the critical issues facing our community and how we we can address the problems facing our city and use the opportunities we face. Any issue facing our community is up for discussion, from schools, jobs, crime, drug policy, and policing to infrastructure, sidewalk snow removal, housing, transportation, energy, and, of course, taxes,” said Barbara Humphrey, the chair of the county Green Party.

The Green Party of Onondaga County will use the testimony to help draft its 2015 platform, which will be considered at its May 17 convention to adopt a platform and nominate candidates.

To schedule time for prepared testimony or to send in written testimony, the Greens ask people to contact them at, 474-7055, or P.O. Box 562, Syracuse NY 13205.
